Condolence letter to US embassy for losing their military officers

The tragic event; the United States of America suffered today 25 Feb 2012,  losing his two senior military officers serving Afghan Country, was a heavy blow and I, the Director General, IDLG on behalf of IDLG staff, condole with United States and the families of the victims.

We ensure you that none of the peace enemies in Afghanistan will prevail on their malice goals, and we, Afghan-US, will continue on our joint momentum, and struggles toward peaceful, democratic, and prosperous Afghanistan.

We Afghan take every sacrifice that the United States and NATO allies make in Afghanistan much valued and feel ourselves suffered in the losses you make.

Municipal Action Planning Workshop-Southern Region

The two days initiated workshop by General Directorate of Municipality Affairs (GDMA) conducted on 12-13 June 2011. The total 6 mayors from Southern region participated in the USAID funded workshop to focus on the priority issues encompassing:

1. Increase citizens participation in Municipal project planning

2. Increase the role of Municipalities in Municipal project designing and approval

3. New initiatives on revenue generation (resources, projects)

4. Improve the practices for economic development.

The session started with the informative and persuasive remarks of the Director General, IDLG. The Director General appreciated the hard work of mayors, and emphasized for further close working relationship between RAMP UP and regional municipalities. He thanked USAID for their unwavering support, and liked the result-oriented efforts of the General Directorate of Municipal Affairs.

IDLG DIRECTOR GENERAL VISITED KABUL PGO

The IDLG Director General visited Kabul Provincial Governor Office following the Transition Conference.

Mr. Abdul Khaliq Farahi, IDLG Director General, visited the Kabul Governor, Chiefs of Police, Chief of National Security and Provincial Council together with District Governors, elders and officials of Kabul PGO to discuss on Transition process, decisions of Transition Conference, ways to strengthen governmental institutions, to deliver quality and sustainable service to the public. In an open discussion, he encouraged the participants to express their concerns, challenges and suggestions for the way forward.
